Gastroenterologist

Dr. Rai graduated medical school in 2008 from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, a top ranked premiere medical institution in India. Thereafter, he decided to pursue a medical career in the United States and did his residency in Internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH in 2013. He completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS in 2016. Working at a busy liver transplant center, provided him an opportunity to manage complex liver disease patients. Due to a keen interest in clinical outcomes research, he completed Masters of Science in Clinical Research along with gastroenterology training. Dr. Rai worked as an academic staff physician at the University of Kansas Medical Center and VA hospital where he was director of esophageal motility disorders. He also served as a director of gastroenterology fellow’s education. He has a thoughtful approach to the patient care and considers himself kind and considerate. He strives to continue working on clinical outcomes research and apply new knowledge to clinical practice. He is moving to the area with his wife and daughter. In free time, he enjoys cooking, traveling and listening to music.
